Was afraid they was going to mess this up as i'm never really a fan of sequels and Trainspotting is one of my favourite ever films, but was very impressed with it, obviously to get the same actors and director back always helps but yeah they did a great job on this one.
Another sequel to watch this weekend, John Wick 2. Loved the first one so looking forward to see if this one is just as good.
Saw Blade Runner 2049 on Friday and was blown away. A thoughtful, multilayered script and it's visually spectacular.
My main misgiving is that I felt it's a bit overlong, but at the same time it's a complex story that probably benefited from that duration.
The score and sound design were suitably epic too, retaining a flavour of Vangelis' original music whilst forging its own identity. The droning synths sounded huge, with bass I could feel as much as hear.

Been so busy i haven't had time to get out and see this yet. The score was one of the stand out things from the original, so its good to see that the sequel retains the same quality.
Saw The Last Jedi at the midnight release last night. I'd love to know what movie everyone else is watching but I thought it was pretty awful. Without giving anything away, established characters had personality transplants, some of them were borderline stupid and other characters were given time consuming plots that just didn't impact the grand scheme of things whatsoever. Plus there were so many questions from the previous film that were either anti climaxes or just not answered at all. It's a shame because I was expecting at least a coherent film. It's star wars so it's still got it's fun moments but as a movie...I don't know. The only thing really that I can really give the film as a whole is at least it didn't borrow so heavily from the original trilogy as Force Awakens did. JJ's gonna have his work cut out for him tying this trilogy together.

This was me through most of it.
Thank fuck I'm not the only one. Like I could see why people would think it's a decent addition to the franchise because there's definitely some fun stuff there but the fact people are treating it like it's the second coming makes me dislike it even more. Saw one tweet that said it was to Star Wars what Dark Knight was to batman which is pretty laughable.

I enjoyed a few things but most of it was awful. Not prequel awful, but still pretty bad. I won't go into spoilers but some of the character development was a waste of time. It dragged on for to long as well. I'll probably see episode 9 and the Kenobi film but as far as disney's star wars goes im done.
