What bugs me is that Rooney once again takes all the stick for having a bit of a poor game, but where was captain fantastic sir Gerrard? He played the same position as Pirlo and you saw the difference there, words cannot describe how good of a player Pirlo is, what a guy and what a beard, outstanding.
Stevie has a habbit of going missing when it matters.
Pirlo is just a genius! His recent autobiography is well worth reading if you're on the lookout for a new book.
Aye I'll have a look out for that, I've noticed that some websites have some excerpts have it and it looks an interesting read.
France were really good last night, Benzema is as lethal as it gets! Should've got a hat-trick but that second goal was credited as an OG, don't really understand why but anyway superb performance.
Argentina were less than impressive, Bosnia deserved a draw if nothing else, they were very unlucky. The first goal was unfortunate but after that Bosnia were the better team. Messi was also very average, I can't even remember how many times he gave the ball away. Ok so he scored a goal but very average performance. Aguero also wasn't much better. Di Maria was the standout in their team IMO.

Why is Germany vs. Portugal on at 11:30AM local time?!?!?!?
People have to be at work!
Rant over.
6 PM here in Germany Great game it was - Müller is on fire once again.

Honduras were really bad tbf, probably the worst team of the Cup so far. Still liked the French team, even without Ribéry.
Never be afraid of the obvious because it's all been done before.

Rooney needs to be played just behind Sturridge, not on the left. Uruguay will be looking to bounce back after their game yesterday and Costa Rica could cause us problems as well. I got USA in the sweep at work, at least I'll have a better chance than England
Captain fantastic sir Gerrard was sitting deep pinyin balls left, right and centre all game, did you not see him? And Pirlo, great player yes, but for a little while early on I don't think I saw one of his more adventurous passes even coming close to coming off

He wasn't as effective as he is for Liverpool in that role tho, I know it's the international stage but when you get the big games like this you look to your most experienced players to put in a performance and to me he didn't seem like he was motivating the team much. As much of a wanker I think John Terry is, he would have been having a go, I even think he would have thrown himself in front of the ball for the first goal. Our defence was inviting the shot. Saying that, I think Hodgson played the best squad he could have and I do think we played well as a team, but I hope Roy does show some balls and decides to drop Rooney if he isn't performing. I personally don't think we'll get past the group stage, but I don't think we'll see the best out of the players until maybe the 2nd or 3rd game.
I've really enjoyed it so far tho, some brilliant games and plenty of goals. Not won fuck all on any bets yet tho, had Germany to win and both teams to score yesterday but with Nani in the team, that was never going to happen!
Spain out, England almost surely gone too. Loving this world cup!
Luis Suarez really is something, just a month after surgery not even fully fit comes into a high pressure game and scores 2 goals. You could see how much it meant to him, gotta love that kind of spirit.
I have to say Roy Hodgson is the most depressing manager I've ever seen. He's always sitting on the bench as if he's just been beaten to a pulp even before the match has begun. Must be the least inspiring manager ever! Surely England could've got a better coach than him. What's his track record then? Fulham, West Brom and let's not forget he's possibly one of the worst managers Liverpool have ever had. How then does he get the England job? Utterly bizarre IMO.

hey hey hey Im not having that, Italy only need to win their 2 games and for england to win their 3rd game and maybe some goal differences and we are through.
almost a dead cert that we are going to win the world cup tbh
the italy manager says he wants a kiss from the queen if they win both their games....so look out for that.
at least england are putting their faith in italy and not a shite team.

I think he took switzerland (or sweden - something begining with an 's') to the world cup last time against the odds. he's also done stints in another euro league at decent clubs, can't remember the details. I actually feel quite sorry for him - it's the overpaid underperforming cunts on the pitch that I blame. should have had thr southampton pair on instead of the man u pair - selection should be by league finishing ranking
and i hate Terry too but at least he wouldn't have been caught out like those two excuses for centre backs were last night. shocking. I actually said all along that the script was for suarez to win against us , then it would set up for us go through in the last match on goal difference but then he would would cheat a goal in the other match. could be worse though I suppose, I could be from Scotland....

Haha no man didn't mean it like that. I meant loving the twists in this cup.
Though not looking especially good for England right now, Costa Rica 1-0 up against Italy. They're truly turning out to be the dark horses of this tournament, beating Uruguay and Italy...wow!

haha I know, just jesting , england need to pack their bags now after all., like someone said really you look at the european countries and none of them are doing that well except maybe germany etc, poor excuse but it is a hotter climate over there.
certainly not looking forward to qatar, I dont think any country really would be happy playing in that heat. (hopefully that gets changed)
this year is certainly the year of the underdog, to see two good teams crash out is interesting.

Still though, with stars like Sturridge, Sterling, Rooney, Lambert, Cahill etc. going out in the group stage is quite bad. Same with Spain. Like you said, can't rule anyone out this time, makes the whole thing so much more interesting. I'd thought I'll only catch the absolute crucial games with the big teams so that I don't mess up my sleep for college but looks like that's not an option anymore.
