"Look at The Stone Roses. When you're constantly getting asked if you're going to re-form, you can only keep saying, 'No' until you say, 'Yes'," he says. "I've never spoken to [Roses guitarist] John Squire about this, but it's like John got bullied into saying, ‘Yes’. Now the Roses have re-formed, no one mentions them any more."
"I think it’s ingrained in the English psyche – this idea that the glory days, the Empire, are behind us. Led Zeppelin! The Smiths! The Jam! They should all re-form! Why? So a load of middle-aged people can stand in the O2 and go, 'They’re not as good as they used to be'. It'd be the same with Oasis. 'Yeah, we’re not as good as we used to be.'"
yea I totally get this, theres clearly this thing going around that if oasis get back together then Liam will be singing like its 1995 and noel will write another WTSMG, it wont happen and I think the hype for an oasis reunion coupled with this skewed version of what they will be like will lead to disappointment.
Ive always laughed at people who whined and bitched about how Liam sounded at the Olympics and the oasis covers during beady eye gigs then turn around and say "time to get oasis back together"....sorry but that is stupid, if you hate liams voice there then an oasis performance will be exactly the same with noel stood to the right of the stage, things wont magically change.

Anais thinks Oasis will never get back together. Have to agree with her i think. It's almost been 10 years!! It seems like yesterday they broke up. Still remember feeling so gutted hearing the news but at the same time, i always had a feeling on that last tour tour it felt like the end. Something just didn't feel right.

I was in the pub the night it all went down the tubes.
A pal phoned me and said it was finished, I thought he was at it at first then when checking the official site and reading Noel’s statement I was gutted.
I can’t see them ever getting back together again and to be honest I don’t want a half arsed reunion at all. Both are doing well solo now so leave it at that.

I would personally, but Liam didn't seem into it during BE in some interviews, I think Liams Rock n Roll and Andys Shoegazing didn't mesh well for Liam, he loves his rock n roll. I just hope I enjoy Liams next album.

We were so naive in this thread, I would love a one off gig or if anything just for Liam and Noel to be brothers again. They're both making it hard for eachother though.

I actually enjoyed Beady Eye, but I think it was more so just for having Liam around but he seems more free and happy being on his own with a band at the back of him. When bands split up, a lot of them are that determined to get away from the previous band and just do their own songs to prove a point, Marr did it, Ian Brown did it and Liam tried to do it but they always come back to the songs that made them which is what Liam has done when he went out on his own.
I still stand by my post that I don't want Oasis to get back together, both seem happy doing what they are doing now and more free. Noel, is moving in a different direction to Liam. I would rather them both carry on doing what they are doing than get back together for the money. Something will give when something happens to Peggy, that will either make or break them. They said the Roses and Floyd would never get back together, but it took the death of Main's mum to bring Squire and Brown back together so you never know but I do think too much has gone on with Noel and Liam.....

I was one of those who desperately wanted the band to get back together. But as time went on i changed my mind. As Sleep Freak said, they need to become brothers again, that's the most important thing right now. It would be a shame if something happening to Peggy is what it took for them to reconcile. I bet Peggy would love nothing more than to see her boys bury the hatchet.
My feelings since Liams solo success have changed. I don't want oasis anymore. I simply dont think its needed. Liam is basically doing what oasis would be doing if they got back together anyway....just without Noel on backing vocals. Noel is singing his oasis songs in his setlist so there isnt much missing.
I doubt it will ever happen anyway because Liam and Noel's relationship seems to be at an all time low. I mean that could all change in no time but as of right now, it just seem unlikely.
Like its been said really, peggy is the remaining glue between them, Noel doesnt talk to paul it seems so when she passes away, it will either bring them back together or it will completely break their relationship for good. It really depends on how bad things have got as to whether their is any good will left to salvage.
I find it somewhat interesting though that Noel doesnt even talk to paul, its quite odd how Noel has seemingly distanced himself from the whole family, not just Liam.
Honestly, now they both have a solo career I couldn't care less about Oasis or Beady Eye
i second that, honestly, i don't find the prospect of the currently noel gallagher re-joining oasis appealing. back in the day he was the chief of the band, however now, with all the success a solo liam has had, wouldn't have this noel on the right footing. i feel the noel gallagher that we currently have is one that is so far removed from the fan in the street to actualy make it something that we could look back on and enjoy.
right now in 2023, unless noel has a complete change of mind-set, not for me, not in this lifetime.

Totally agree with you, firstly both Noel and Liam are doing just fine on their own and they don't need each other musically. And, even if Oasis did reunite it probably wouldn't last long anyway. Besides all that they have a lot to sort out between them, however, saying that I wish they would sort things out between them even though I don't want the band back.
