2003 Polaris by North Mississippi Allstars, guitar, backing vocals on "Polaris" and "One to Grow On" 2007 "Illegal Attacks" by Ian Brown feat. If I had some gum, I'd chew a hole into the sun...
I noticed that if you put Miles Kane - "My Fantasy" out of phase it highlights Noel's backing vocals. Posted the file on my sound cloud, so hopefully this will stay up (sometimes they will auto-detect third party content and delete it). I set it to private anyway, so only those with the link should be able to see it.
Great tune. I thought it was a lost T-Rex classic when I first heard it tbh.
David, previously you "oop'sed" Noel's remix of The Knock On Effect, do you know if Noel's remix of Devils Haircut by Beck has been given the treatment to bring out Noel's guitar?
You are spot on with the T-Rex comparison above, quite spooky hoe close it is!

Hi Jim,
I'm not sure if it's been processed - I'll check later and hopefully put up an OOPSed version over the weekend.
On a vaguely related note... this isn't OOPS, but thought it'd be of interest here.
It's a new stereo mix of the Beatles' Love Me Do, made by a painstaking process of spectral extraction from the mono mix. I'm amazed at what Deepsky (the producer & uploader) has achieved here. The techniques and technology involved in de-mixing have developed a lot recently.
Perhaps one day we'll be able to de-mix an Oasis track and perfectly separate out the guitars, drums, and vocals without needing the multitrack.

wow, very clearly john's vocal. I'd tried to similar one, but it's almost mono. I'm interested in his techlogy.
Hi James, I'm not sure exactly which spectral editing software Deepsky uses. It might be Sony's SpectraLayers. Izotope RX4 also offers spectral editing. Just speculating here as there are several options. From what I've read (not having used the software myself), I understand that the process takes a great deal of patient effort to optimise the results.
Here are some YouTube videos demonstrating Spectralayers that might be of interest.
I wonder if we'll get another remix now that The Dying of the Light is being released as a single or wether Where The City Meets The Sky is the end of them.

Well It turned out that Where The City Meets The Sky wasn't the end of the remixes. Will The Mexicano be the end? Hope not. I've just updated the original post with The Mexican remixes.
You're missing a few remixes/alternative versions from the Scorpio Rising CD single.
Scorpio Rising (The Polyphonic Spree Mix) Scorpio Rising (The Scientist Mix) Scorpio Rising (Live Xfm @ulu) Scorpio Rising (The Scientist Dub)
Also, wasn't there a Chemical Bros CD/DVD that had an version of Stetting Sun?
I haven't heard those Scorpio Rising alt versions/remixes! I'll give them a listen when I get home. As for the Chemical Brothers DVD, I have one which is called The Singles' or something like that. There's a live version on Setting Sun there. Is that the one you mean?

Yep, that sounds right!
By the way, if you have the Scorpio Rising CD single, make sure you watch the CD-ROM stuff - there's some ace footage of Liam recording his vocal.

There is another remix of Scorpio Rising by The Scientist. It is from a really rare promo CDr, schorman was kind enough to share it a few years back.
Scorpio Rising (The Scientist DJ Mix)
Those Scientist mixes are probably the worst reworks of any Oasis related remix material I've ever heard. They are shite although the dub version is the best of the three.

I heard the The Polyphonic Spree Mix and I liked it, but, as Jim pointed out, the Scientist mixes aren't any good. They reminded me of some guys from Argentina who take the vocals off famous songs and introduce new backing tracks. Here's Don't Look Back in Anger 'Cumbia'-Style: YOUTUBE LINK (I don't even feel comfortable embedding the video here haha).
I don't own a copy of the CD single, but now it definitely is in my wantlist!
