i can't wait to hear the live stuff. hope there's a broadcast soundboard quality on the cards soon. Liam's people have put quite a high value on live releases so I think it's a cert at some point.
Very interested to see what the cover will be - I' hoping for the Beatles 'Rain' - perfect for both of them!
yes i thought there would be a few more 'extendeds', but actually when you listen to the roses reunion tours the 'jams' were quite tightly arrangned and rehearsed, this really does sound like a very loose meandering. i reckon once the band gels more and reherses for the longer sets we'll see a harder, tighter version of tihs kind of thing. Squire seems to be finding his feet in some way.
I know there's been some talk that the gigs have been a bit flat due to them only playing new songs, but I went to the Leeds show last night and can say they were on top form, the crowd were well up for it, even if they didn't know the words to every single song.
It felt like a proper collaborative showcase as well, Liam let Squire have the spotlight for the solos which were fantastic. The whole band sound like they've been playing together for years, and Liam's vocals were some of the best I've ever heard live from him.
I might be in the minority for saying this but I'm glad there were no Oasis / Roses tracks, and it's great they were confident enough just to perform all new material, just about every track improves for me in the live setting.
so far my 'alternate version' album (ie not-smashed-to-limited-loudness-hell) has Jonathan Ross 'Mars' and 'Make It Up' from the demos - only 8 more to go
