Damon Albarn talks working with Noel Gallagher on new Gorillaz track ‘We Got The Power’
Damon Albarn has discussed working with former Britpop rival Noel Gallagher for new Gorillaz track ‘We Got The Power’.
‘We Got The Power’ features both Savages‘ Jehnny Beth and former Oasis guitarist Gallagher. Oasis and Albarn’s band Blur were famously involved in a chart battle during the ’90s, but the pair have since become friends.
Speaking to Radio X about recording with Noel, Albarn said it was “really great” and that Gallagher is “fantastic in the studio”. He added: “It’s nice when you see how someone goes about their business. He’s great.”

I really hope Noel has a couple of tracks on the new record that incorporate different styles of music. I want something from Noel that's completely different. Would of loved to have heard the AA album
This so called song is absolutely horrendous and I couldn't even hear Noel during the live performance at GN Show. Plus he looked out of place. Not my cup of tea at all.
Italian mad for it. Oasis: Firenze 24.02.2009 - Beady Eye: Milano 16.03.2011, Firenze 08.06.2011 Roma 07.10.2011 - Noel Gallagher: Roma 13.03.2012 - Liam Gallagher: Milano 26.02.2018, Taranto 08.06.2019
i don't know if i like the song or hate it... i feel so confused.
Same here, like. Its alright but Noel has no presence in the song other than that I feel like its too short and its missing something. I want to like it but theres not much to like.

Took the words out of my mouth
Yeah, I mean ... he might as well make it up with his brother if he has to get involved in such drivel

I like the whole concept of the band, various artists contributing to songs and that, but I find Damon Albarn annoying as fuck. On the Graham Norton show, i've seen tramps dress better. Not of fan of Liam constantly slagging Noel off on Twitter but he has got a point about who is hanging around with, the song is honestly terrible and i'm suprised Noel is part of it, I think the only reason he is working with Gorillaz is to wind Liam up.
The album itself is pretty bad. The beauty of Gorrilaz is they're in another world with their own narrative but the album is laced with political tripe, which so many people in the media are doing so that sort of escapism is gone. To me it just sounds like a solo Damon album with a bunch of his mates, a lot of them utilized badly, Noel being a prime example. The visual side of it left a lot to be desired the time around too.Think it might be time to call it a day, lads.
