Forgive me if somebody else started a thread about this but I couldn't find it.
I decided to check out the new mix this morning and I must say it is really fuckin' good. Soon Come Tomorrow sounds unbelievable. It's my favorite track from the album and this new mix may actually be an improvement. I would love to see them take this kind of leap forward with BE III in terms of the album essentially all flowing as one piece.
Just popped it on again. Love it. It really would suit them to incorporate more of this into their overall sound. Then again maybe they've tried it and decided against it.

I'm pretty sure the band must've felt that the hardcore fan base aka us would be pretty taken aback if these were the album tracks so I don't think they would've wanted to take that chance. But anyway it's nice that we get to hear these remixes which sound very refreshing.
"Who'll pick you up when you're spread too thin, when the walls you built are closing in around you? I found you...."

Liam did say in an interview that they tried taking the songs to a different place but in the end some of them didn't work so they brought them back, some features in the remixes could possibly be alternate versions when they were experimenting with sounds.
The mix of Don't Brother Me is better than the album cut for me, really quite enjoying it.
Really like White Smoke too, I've been wanting that released as a b-side so it's great to have a studio mix even though I'm still grateful to Birchy for sharing his recording back in the summer.

is white smoke exactly the same version as played before the gigs, or is it "only" a remix?

I think it's a different version to the one played at gigs, I don't remember the version at gigs having Liam on it.

The version before the gig is a shorter edit, they only play it for about 3 minutes before the band come on and if I remember correctly, you don't hear any of Liam's voice throughout unlike the 42.42 mix.

I asked the management and was told 'someone close to the band'. they wouldn't say more than that so I'm guessing it's tour DJ Arveene rather than Andy himself.
