I've been listening to Alex Turner's Submarine OST quite a bit over the past week. Really nice laid back piano/acoustic album. If anyone hasn't heard it already, give it a go. It's pretty good!
"Who'll pick you up when you're spread too thin, when the walls you built are closing in around you? I found you...."
Anyone know what happened with the single Arabella?!? I thought there was a new B'side but the single seems to have disappeared lol
The song was scheduled to be released as a single digitally on 10 March 2014[2][3] and on vinyl on 28 March 2014[4] as the fifth single promoting the album, but was later cancelled and used as a promotional single only.

On Thursday 22 May Arctic Monkeys will be recording an exclusive acoustic set for XFM – you'll be able to hear tracks from the session on Friday's breakfast show and get an eyeful of them performing right here at www.xfm.co.uk.
Then, on Bank Holiday Monday (26 May) from 7pm, we'll be giving you the chance to hear Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park on XFM's Evening Show.
XFM is the ONLY place you can hear one of the key shows of the summer. The shows, taking place this Friday and Saturday, will kick off the Monkeys’ huge summer world tour, including a headline slot at Reading & Leeds Festival.
We're also giving away tickets to see the guys at Finsbury Park all week on Breakfast, Drive and on the XFM website right here.

Was at the Saturday show with the last shadow puppets reunion in the encore and I have to say they SMASHED it live!!! Set list was immense the new songs got just as good a reaction as the older tunes and as usual finsbury was a great venue. I loved it.

Read the reviews for the 2 nights and it sounds like they smashed it, wish i'd have gone to one of the nights now but with the hassle of paying over the odds for the tickets, then travel and a hotel for the night I thought against it, it cost me a small fortune when I went to see the Roses there last year although that was money well spent!

I really wish I could like their latest stuff. Humbug was their equivalent of Day & Age by the Killers. D&A was an album which you either love or hate. The Killers had 2 great albums, which was generally well received. I personally Love Day & Age, but a lot of people don't.
Humbug is exactly that. I loved AM's first two albums. The debut album is up there with In The City, Definitely Maybe, Hot Fuss, TSR's self titled, Kasabian's self titled as my favourite debuts ever. Favourite worst nightmare was good, it wasn't That's what people say, but class nonetheless. A lot like WTSMG for Oasis.
Humbug was when I went off them. Suck it and see was pretty woeful too. The new album is pretty guff. R U Mine is good but I don't consider that as a new album, I always consider it a stand alone single for RSD 2012. Plus Alex Turner thinks he's Elvis now.

They are a band that has got worse with age in my opinion, loved the first album but after that there has just been the odd song on each of their albums which i've liked, I like them live more than I do their studio albums. I saw them back in 2004/5 in a small pub near me and I only paid £4 a ticket. A guy I went to college with actually went to Uni with the Arctic Monkeys, well 3 of them I think and he did a lot of the graphic design work for the first couple of albums, I actually went for a pint with them at one point as well although I don't think I actually said anything to any of them but I can put it on my claim to fame along with calling Chico (from the X factor) a cunt and a goat shagger in the VIP lounge at a rugby game once!

They definitely have got worse with age! I'm just not a fan! They've got a horrible fanbase too.
