Loved the Video, Alex Drunk acting was top notch. "Alex Band Guy" text at the end was funny. This album is shaping up to make them huge again. Been a fan of these guy's for years, Turner is probably Britain's greatest songwriter since Albarn/Gallagher.
I agree that the after this album they're going to be massive again, their fanbase seems to be bigger now than it was a few years ago and their headline slot at Glastonbury has made a lot of people take notice of them again. You only have to look at how fast the arena tour sold to see how popular they are. I wouldn't be too surprised to see them do a big London gig next year at Wembley or Hyde Park.
Wasn't fully into these boys until Suck it and See now I'm a massive fan. Love the back catalogue and some songs that I never really noticed I am a big fan of. The new album is shaping up to be fantastic! Seeing them in Manchester in November and I can't wait already
I give full credit to wirralriddler he turned me on to them , I don't lis ten to new music ( anything post oasis is new to Me ) his constant posts made me listen cheers to him for that
Ha ha similar story with me mate, always liked them but lost interest a few years ago but when one of my buddies kept going on and on about them I gave them a go and man I'm glad I did. The new single is excellent again really feeling them on this album!

Didn't know you liked AM kalas?...

I like the new single, though it's different to what I was expecting. I was hoping for a slightly heavier Humbug, but I'm a bit worried after Alex saying the album sounds a bit like Dr. Dre at times. Thankfully there's no rapping on it though!
Anyone else got tickets for their tour later this year? I've got tickets for their gig at The Hydro in Glasgow. The venue doesn't open until next month and Arctic Monkeys will be the first time I go, so I'm looking forward to the gig to see what the venue's like.
I seen them a couple of years ago in Glasgow and didn't think they were that great, they didn't seem into it.
I'm seeing them in Liverpool at the Echo Arena, I haven't managed to go see them, it's like every time they tour in my area, I'm either really busy or away - typical. Being said, I'm looking forward to it, and I'm looking forward to the new album, I really liked Suck It and See, but Humbug was a hit and miss for me, some songs I love like Crying Lightning and Pretty Visitors, but others just didn't click with me.
Surprised by this to be honest, at first i was the same but after a few months i went back to Humbug and it just clicked, EVERY tune is great. Maybe you need to hear them more? Dance Little Liar is the best track on the album IMO, but the 2 you mention are great also, as are Cornerstone, My Propeller and The Jewellers Hands, most Monkeys fans i come across regard Humbug as their best album, each to their own and that but you should give Humbug another go IMO, especially the b-sides from that era which are all fantastic, Fright Lined Dining Room and Catapult are among their best ever tracks for me, both epic.
AM is shaping up to be one of the albums of the year.
It looks like the general public is starting to take notice of the band once again also, which was unexpected. Do I Wanna Know? is their biggest selling song in 6 years and Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? is going to be their first top 10 since Fluorescent Adolescent.
Humbug and SIAS both went to number 1, didn't sell loads but still pretty good and their gigs always sold out. But yeah These last three singles seem to have got a lot critical acclaim and a larger audience interested in them, their show stealing Glastonbury set and Olympics set has gained them some great exposure (their version of the Beatles Come Together got top 20). This album seems like it's all set up for more of a commercial assault on the charts.

I agree Humbug is their Masterpiece for a lot of fan's, it's their most darker and intense work. I personally prefer SIAS but Humbug I feel deserves more love especially in the UK, where it's still met with some dislike. Cornerstone, Crying Lighting, Secret Door, Dance little Liar and Jewellers hand are some of their finest work. But I think every track is good and the b-sides from that time were some of the best from any band. It certainly helped them change their sound and become the band they are now.

This will be their 5th straight album to debut at no.1 in the uk charts (hopefully), an impressive feat by anyones standards it must be said, and they actually deserve it too.

It is Wirral, I see the 5th going to number 1 all the singles are selling like crazy. Plus The last shadow puppet's album went to number 1 too.

my fav band of the last years and the only one with no letdowns so far.
their new album is gonna be a massive seller everywhere in the world. 3 singles so far and all are hits (with good sales and million youtube views), something weird for a rock band these days and that says a lot for the success of their new album. contender for album of the year (along with the new arcade fire album).
its amazing to see these days a real rock band in the charts and people paying attention to them buying their music
I'm so excited from this album. Everything we've heard so far has been great, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the running theme goes.
Have a good time. Going to See them at Electric Pinic, yeah this new album could be their best yet as all the singles they've released have been excellent.
