Beady Eye won’t be playing Coachella

Beady Eye, the post-Oasis rock band fronted by Liam Gallagher, will not be playing the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April, a Goldenvoice spokesperson confirmed today.


The reason that Beady Eye have scotched the gig was not given. A request for comment from the band’s management had not been answered by Wednesday night Pacific time.


The band — Gallagher and ex-Oasis mates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock (joined last year by ex-Kasabian guitarist Jay Mehler on bass) — released its sophomore alby “BE” last June. Beady Eye’s debut “Different Gear, Still Speeding” came out three years ago this week, in the U.S. on L.A.-based Dangerbird Records.


Beady Eye, formed after the acrimonious breakup of Oasis in 2009, was scheduled to play Thursday in Paris. They also have two March dates in Japan on their itinerary.


In seemingly unrelated trivia, the first Friday of this year’s Coachella marks 20 years to the day that Oasis released its debut single, “Supersonic.”

I think this is a reason why a lot of people thought Oasis was getting back together.

I wonder whats going on? thats two events that have been cancelled in recent months. One thing I noticed in a video rolo posted the other day of start anew is how utterly quiet the crowd is, especially from someone like Liams background, to go from a crowd at wembley chanting LIAM to a small venue with everyone just sleeping must be quite agitating.

hopefully its because they have something better on the cards rather than them just cancelling for no apparent reason.
