I've had an offer to buy a copy of a WTSMG UK promo cd. Typically these come with the same tracklisting as the standard UK release, some early copies also contain Step Out which obviously was initially intending for inclusion on the album.
The copy I have been offered contains Step Out but interestingly doesn't contain the two untitled instrumental tracks. I've never come across this before in the 9 years I've been collecting Oasis items. A part of me is sceptical but from the photos I've seen it does seem legit.
Fakes of this promo are generally easy to spot as the centre ring of the cd itself is smaller however this looks fine on the pictures I've seen of the item.
Has anyone come across this version of the CD before? Basically I think it's either fake or EXTREMELY rare, I was hoping someone could provide me with any info at all before I make a decision and get back to the seller.
Interesting. I think I've seen a promo cassette that listed the tracks this way, but I'm not sure whether the two untitled tracks were included or not.
If I had some gum, I'd chew a hole into the sun...
One way to tell a legit promo from the bootleg is to check whether the oasis logo on the sleeve has a shiny coating (spot varnish). The bootlegs don't have it, while the legit copies do. It's hard to tell in the photo.

ive got the promo cd and as advised you need to check the logo is spot varnished cover is top opening and is black inside as well silver side of my cd says damont crecd189cdm01 on inner ring. tracks 6 and 12 are just numbered no titles yours looks different in layout on label side the obvious thing mine lists 12 tracks yours 11 step out is track 8 on mine and gives timings. how much was it? i purchased mine at the height of oasis mania for silly cash in vinyl exchange manchester.
