Sorry, did not know where to put this. He is only talking a bit about Liam and Beady Eye, starting from 16:00 and nothing we have not heard before from him. But he does not sound bitter, just that it did not work out with him and Liam, that Liam was drinking and did not like to be told what to do (well, he is bold, after all!). He also calls him talented and says he is more of a family man than Noel.
I think this sounds about right, Liam seems more humbled now after failing with beady eye but its quite clear that during beady eye, certainly in the earlier days with DGSS that he was being overly arrogant about how big the band would be etc and likely wouldnt take any advice or direction.
I always said that lillywhite was unprofessional for not completing the job but if Liam was being difficult to work with then its not surprising that he took off, specially since the songs on DGSS left ALOT to be desired. The rest of the band being yes men is nothing new, we knew that and that was as big a problem as anything else.
I think in the end it was good for Liam to be knocked down a few levels, theres no way he couldve done his solo album in 2011, he was too arrogant. If he had of done then he wouldve had no outside songwriters and it likely wouldve only reach the success of beady eye anyway.
beady eye was a fun ride but it had to end and Liam needed that failure I think to get him off his oasis high horse that he could produce anything and have people eating out his hands.
For what it's worth, I remember reading in James Fearnley's book (Here comes everybody - The story of the Pogues) that Lillywhite was a producer that did not take well being contradicted in the studio, so I guess it was a clash of egos.
But I agree, it did Liam good getting a bit of a rude awakening, actually taking that lesson and learning from it, doing it better this time and hopefully for a long time in the future.
