Now I loved the Roses and like when all bands split you take an interest in any solo work.
John Squire can’t sing for shit but the music he wrote was more than decent. Ian had some great songs over his solo albums and his best of, The Greatest is one of my most listened too.
Seen him solo a couple of times over the years. Me an the ex missus went in 2005 at the Glasgow Academy and the place was bouncing, he sounded more than decent and he also played a good few Roses tunes but the solo stuff sounded just as good that night, one of the gigs I’ll always remember.
However, never ever, ever did I expect this after all these years… no band, worse than karaoke, hard to watch to be honest. There’s more clips and they don’t get better.

We was there mate, certainly a strange experience. Thought it was just the intro at first then the rest of the band come on but he just carried on his own, wasn’t as bad as they say it it was just weird.

I was in two minds to go to that gig myself as it's local to me, but after seeing this news I'm glad I didn't. I can't even bring myself to watch the footage. Can't quite believe it's come to this for him. How the mighty have fallen. I hope he can turn it around and get a touring band for the future. They'll always be a lot of love for him with the legacy of the Roses, he's done some cracking solo stuff too.

People are saying it’s bad obviously haven’t seen Ian Brown live before, the bloke just can’t sing but he’s a legend and a lot are going for the Roses tunes, obviously his statements of late may have tarnished his legacy. I personally didn’t mind it, was different. Funny how rappers don’t get this kind of stick when they perform with a DJ tho. Most of Brown’s solo stuff is done through a beat box anyway and not using guitars. Obviously nice to see a full band playing live,
it's Ian Brown! Social media spins things, that's the way. Lots of footage of glasgow and manc that seem to show crowd having a good time. that's what he's all about, a community vibe.
Anyone who goes to see Ian live expecting a spot on in tune vocal tour de force has obviously not done their research
