ted2. funnier than the first one, but too many sh!t jokes/scenes for it to be a great comedy. i'll give it a 6, which is suprisingly high since i dont think seth mcfarlane is funny at all.
I thought some scenes were really funny, but others just fell flat. what i love about seth's movies is all the pop culture references. not a huge fan of family guy but i enjoy the movies he has made.

the only thing better about his movies than family guy is that they cant fall back on the retarted cut away jokes that have nothing to do with anything. so they needed to make real jokes that fit into the plot. and with that, yes, they made a couple of really funny scenes/lines. but the pop culture references is also why his movies wont become classic comedies (apart from that theyre not that funny). after a while the references will be completely out-dated and no one will get them or care enough to look them up.
'ant man'. not bad. not great. entertaining enough tho. but paul rudd as a superhero didnt work for me... 'pixels'. kinda stoopid. pretty much relies on nostalgic references. other than that its a typical sandler affair. if youre into old skool arcade games id watch 'king of kong' instead. great documentary.
Gave Clerks II another watch today. It's a lot more straight forward comedy than the first one, I laughed out loud a couple of times. Randalls racist scene had me in stitches. Randall and Dante might be my favourite movie duo since C3PO and R2D2 and I'm pretty mad for Star Wars mostly the movies and games though, a lot of the extended universe besides people like Kyle Katarn and Kylo Ren is fucking alien (I DID A PUN) to me. Jay and Silent Bob are also great together. "15 bucks, little man. Put that shit, in my hand" 7 Leaves out of 10
Watched Breakfast Club for the first time yesterday. Fuck was it good, the narratives and conversations hit so close to home I actually got emotional about my own school experience. The ending kinda ruined it though, was it necessary to pair of 4 of the characters. Moral of the story: get a makeover.....the jock kids'll rail you. I kid, easy 8 or 9 Leaves out of 10

kevin smith should stick to writing, which he is very talented at. his directing is amateurish at best. i'll give him clerks and red state. dogma couldve been great, but he wrecked it. agreed, the breakfast club is wicked. and ally sheedy was my frst crush. i tend to stay away tho, 'cause like you say it brings up my own teenage years, which usually reminds me of how f%ck!ng old i am...im the same with 'stand by me'. a few scenes in that really hit my nostalgia button.

He's a bit hit and miss with most things tbh. Like in comics, he created Onomatopoeia, really cool character but then he wrote that awful Spiderman/Black Cat comic. In movies he can range from shit like Mallrats to really good stuff like Chasing Amy. I'm still at a loss at why Clerks III has been pushed back to make a Mallrats sequel, it was never that good to begin with, I'd love to say stick with what you know but you can tell he;s a passionate guy and he probably doesn't wanna be thought of as a one trick pony, but the world needs more Randall and Dante.
And yeah, Ally Sheedy did not go unnoticed . And like yourself I'm gonna stay away from the film for a while just cos of the downer I was on after watching it. That's the power of movies, people.
had a 2nd go at this, its great, critics talk shite.
I loved it as well, thought it was really well done. Arnie is just the king of one liners! Laughed so much when he smashed through the police car
meh. it left way too much of the plot out. obviously for the next installment, but i still felt cheated. makes it hard to give an overall opinion because you dont know if parts of the plot are stoopid or will be explained away in the next one. there are definitely parts that had me shaking my head with disbelief. good graphics. nice to see arnie back. but theyre messing with the story that made the first 2 films good...

Yeah I know what you mean about that, but it just sets it up for the next one pretty well I thought.
The first 2 films was just so simple and it's what made them classics, when they release new ones they are always putting a twist on it and over complicating things, theres only so many ways of milking a cow!
my worry is they are thinking about not making sequels because it didnt do as well as hoped, I just think it would be a shame as the film couldve been brought to a nice close with arnold sacrificing himself to kill the terminator and save sarah, end of. I thought it was as emotional if not more than the end of T2 then it swerved and left me thinking "wait..what?"
I loved the way the film was building with arnold becoming broken down after so many decades and ultimately sacrificing himself to save the day but they had to come up with a way for him to be in the next one, so he got a cheesy upgrade, they got this cliched happy ending yo set up a future film which may not happen.
I really thought they nailed it down though, the humour was great and the atmosphere actually felt like it was part of the same universe as t1 and t2.
