Saw Doctor Strange today. It was pretty decent. Not the best Marvel film by a long shot, but the visuals were excellent and Benedict Cumberbatch was the right person to play Strange.
Screener season, so been going through a good few films and also some classics.
Fences - Denzel is my favourite actor so really enjoyed this, a slow kind of film so don't expect much action. The magnificent seven - Again a classic performance from Denzel, big fan of the original so pleased they didn't fuck this up. Arrival - What the fuck? Watched it right to the end expecting shit to kick off but was pants, not impressed. Hacksaw Ridge - a absolute classic war film, loved this film. 12 angry men - not watched this in years, but after a recent argument at work I got told to re watch it, brilliant watch. The Accountant - not the biggest Afleck fan but I loved this, didn't expect it to be this good.
Silent Running (1972 sci-fi classic), in an abridged version on super 8mm film.
My mate just got a new film projector and we spent a couple of hours going through his collection of 8mm films. Even though the picture is soft and grainy, there's a certain magic to see film projected.
Now going to see if I can track down an 8mm print of The Terminator.
