My point is this... do we even need to credit the source on these tracks? Or any of the tracks? They're all bootlegged anyhow.
Just a question. Thoughts?
P.S. Can we not simply point people to the forum if they are seeking more specific information on the tracks?
If the idea is to make it feel like an important peice of work with some authority of knowledge behind it, rather than just a random selection of bootlegs made into a compilation, then yes it does need to have details imo.
the idea maybe would be that if someone saw that a track was from a certain set of recordings, they'd look for the rest of them and be pointed here?
I've added recording dates and locations (where known) to the 1994 to 1999 tracklisting suggested by Jim earlier in the thread. Hope this may be of some use.
Columbia (Mix 2) (Sawmills Studio, Cornwall; Feb-March 1994) Slide Away (Mix 2) (Monnow Valley Studio, Wales; January 1994) Live Forever (Mix 1) (Sawmills Studio, Cornwall; Feb-March 1994) Whatever (MTV Most Wanted; broadcast 18th August 1994) Supersonic (Chicago Metro; 15th October 1994) Cigarettes & Alcohol (Chicago Metro; 15th October 1994) Bonehead's Bank Holiday (Rockfield Studios, Wales; May 1995) Don't Look Back In Anger (First Ever Performance; Sheffield Arena, 22nd April 1995) The Masterplan (Instrumental) (Maison Rouge studio, London; September 1995) Some Might Say (Guitar Hero complete mix) Original recording: Loco Studios, Wales; Feb-March 1995) Wonderwall (A live version) Champagne Supernova (Noel's Vocal - American Gig) Morning Glory (Noel Acoustic) Stand By Me (Noel Rough Mix) (Abbey Road Studios, London; October 1996) I Hope, I Think, I Know (Noel Rough Mix) (Abbey Road Studios, London; October 1996) Stay Young (Different Mix) (Original recording: Air Studios, London; January 1997)
Roll With It (acoustic) - sorry, can't remember where this was from... Was it backstage somewhere? Glastonbury 1995? Don't Go Away (sessions clip) (Air Studios, London; January 1997) ... I don't have an exact date for this, but since it has Liam singing I imagine it came later in the recording process. Hence the suggested Air Studios credit. All Around the World (sessions clip) (Ridge Farm Studio, Surrey; November-December 1996) ... Jill Furmanovsky mentions in her Oasis book Was There Then that Liam recorded his vocal for this at Air Studios, so I'd say there's a fair chance this backing track with Noel's guide vocal was recorded at Ridge Farm. I haven't seen any quotes saying it was recorded at Abbey Road or Master Rock.
There are differing accounts of where Stand By Me and Stay Young were recorded so I've gone with what seems to fit with quotes in various interviews published at the time. Will have to dig those out at some point.
The details that DavidJay has used above is appropriate enough I think.
Studio / Venue, Location and Approx Date.
In the booklet or artwork mention more information is available here on the forum if people wish to find out anything else. I'm sure between us all we can answer most questions that would be asked.

Excuse my ignorance, I did not understand very well, but with this Oasis Anthology you want to put together a discography unofficial bootleg and DVD of the band from 1989 to 2009? If the answer is yes to when you think he's ready?
I've been away for a while, so I've missed most of the discussion on this project. Looks very good so far, and I'd be happy to help if there is any unanswered questions or info needed. Feel free to use any of the tracks I've transferred and uploaded in the past if needed (Hit The North '93 session, FITB 2000 demo, NGHFB unreleased tracks etc..). What stage is the project in now? Any news on when it's due?
Great update on the project. I think "This Guys In Love With You" really should be there, as its a special one-off with Burt Bacharach himself. You know, the fellow whose picture is on the DM sleeve.

seems to have gone very quiet here, which is a real shame. is anything happening 'behind the scenes' or has this gone the same way as the idea somewhere else?
I'd add the four piece letterman, bonehead on bass, 'morning glory' to jims tracklist for that era btw...

The Letterman version is a good shout. Replace that with the acoustic version I suggested and add This Guys In Love With You.
I've not spoke about what happened on L4E as I had too much going on with my dad last year but it went between three folk and each had genuine reasons why it never got completed and that's why I never got too worked up about it but for this to actually happen someone has to step up and take control and can dedicate the time to the editing side as I imagine it is a challenge.
Points to get it moving :
#1
Are people happy with suggested tracklistings made earlier in the thread, if not then please make suggestions and to move forward.
#2
Who will volunteer to mix / edit it.
#3
Compile the best quality versions available.
#4
Work out the songs basic details, information as DavidJay previewed above ie track title (demo, live, session), venue (studio or gig location), date (as close as possible of recording).
#5
Artwork, booklet etc but I think Jit is pretty much taking care of that.
I'll be honest, I can only do the very basic music editing with Wavepad and I don't have a clue in regards to equalising etc so I can't help with something on this scale but I can help in providing the music, mainly the studio based tracks and also the songs information, studios, dates.
I hope it takes place. I liked the promo video from Jit and stuff like that. I'd be happy to put it on rkid003 to get it attention too.

Sorry for the lack of updates, and dedicated work on this project. I was full of energy and ready to go number of weeks ago, then life got in the way. Get me some final tracklistings with necessary credit information and I'll get some art done.
(Personally, I'd love to have this thing ready pre-Christmas. I've got a few close friends and family that I'd love to give it to. )

I'm willing to help with the art, mate. If you need a hand just tell me. Sorry I can't help with the music-related stuff, I don't have any knowledge on the topic.
