I think I'll make a few more possibly when we decide on a release date. We can blast the interwebs with them. FB, Twitter, etc. Maybe spark a few more people's interests. Little teasers, you know?

Looks awesome mate!! Great teaser trailer. Super excited for this!

Im gonna have to hand this over to someone else. I just dont have the time at the moment to do it. I can supply the music once the final tracklisting is chosen, but as for compiling the tracklist, editing, mastering I just don't have time.

I totally understand. I also think you got the first disc down perfect with what you sent me in the past.
For everyone who is unaware... NoelsOasis and I have had various conversations about how to go about doing this thing. The biggest hurdle we have come across is that we do not want this to be a "Best Of Live" set. If we try to stretch it out to say 8 or 10 discs then it becomes impossible to keep the live tracks to a minimum level.
So here is my two cents...
We have a solid disc #1 which contains only pre-DM material.
1989-00-89 - Noel's Demo Tape
What's It Got To Do With You Hey You What's Been Happenin' But What If Gotta Have Fun
1992-00-00 - Portastudios, Manchester, UK
See The Sun Better Let You Know Snakebite
1992-00-00 - Stockport, UK
Colour My Life Take Me
1992-01-14 - The Boardwalk, Manchester, UK
I Will Show You Life In Vain
1992-1993 - Demo Tape
Lock All The Doors Must Be The Music Setting Sun
1993-03-11 - Real People Studios, Liverpool, UK
Strange Thing
What I think would be best is to do 2 more discs: 1) 1994 (DM) - 1999 (Pre-SOTSOG) and 2) 2000 - 2009. It should make it easier to keep the live tracks to only being truly rare, or significant recordings. And by live I mean anything that is from a normal gig, excludes radio, t.v., soundchecks, etc. Also, it would be interesting if we could get a couple of interview snippets per disc as well to break things up a bit.
Is anyone willing to take on the task of compiling a tracklisting for one or both of those discs? All we need is the tracklisting, and NoelOasis has agreed to compile the actual tracks together for us. I'll take on one of them if no one is willing to do so, but I admittedly don't know the deepest corners of Oasis catalogue over the years, so it might take me a while.
I'll help out however I can. Message me, let's talk about it, let's move on this.
P.S. Big thanks for all your hard work NoelsOasis!

If you are including "Setting Sun" from the Boardwalk Tape then I'd call it "Comin' On Strong" as noted in Noel's songbook.
I'd also clarify the studios as much as possible. For example, there is no " Portastudios", I asked about that previously and I'm sure DavidJay was good enough to state there was actually a Porter Street Studios in Manchester and I'm sure we also concluded some of the other early tracks were from Out of the Blue (Correct me if I'm wrong though).

all spot on suggestions there Jim and JitKenson, totally agree that's how it should be. Davidjay has the knowledge to fill in any blanks and details. surely nearly done?
as mentioned before, 'mastering' in this instance literally means a bit of eqing, cleaning up and basically getting everything at a similar volume level.
Great to see this project take shape. I have some info here that hopefully may be of some help.
As far as I know, the first Oasis demo tape (the one featuring Colour My Life and the first version of Take Me) was recorded late in 1991 at the Abraham Moss studios in Manchester. It was reviewed by Chris Sharratt in the Christmas 1991 edition of the Manchester listings magazine City Life, in which he gave it a cautious seal of approval, saying that it was 'a bit nasally in places, sort of like Dermo from Northside but with a cold, and in fact the whole song is in that Northside vein. The second track [Take Me] is a bit more urgent and weird, sort of Inspirals on psychedelics. Interesting, but I'm not too excited.' (source: Lee Henshaw - Oasis, p. 13).
There was a second version of Take Me, which Mr Monobrow details on his site at the link below. Clint Boon recalls this version as having been recorded at Out of the Blue studios in Manchester. www.mrmonobrow.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/predm.htm
I have never seen recording info for See the Sun, Snakebite, and Better Let You Know, so not sure how they should be credited. That said, I'm aware of the band using only two recording studios during this period - one is Out of the Blue (which had also been used by Rain to record several demos) and the other is Amazon studios, which they visited during summer 1992. They were with Clint Boon of the Inspirals at that point, and he rang Phil Saxe (talent scout for Factory records) during their stay, saying "I'm in Amazon studios at the moment with this band, Oasis, they're not getting anywhere... Can you help them out? They're a really good band.' This came to nothing though. (Source: Henshaw, p. 14). So possibly those tracks were recorded at either Out of the Blue or Amazon studios? Would be good to ask someone involved with the sessions if they remember anything on this if I get the chance.
As Jim mentioned earlier, some confusion has arisen over the name Portastudios. I think what's happened here is that Oasis recorded a number of early demos (including all those with the Real People) on a TASCAM 8-track Portastudio. Confusingly, the Real People's studio was in... Porter Street (in Liverpool)! I think, just going from memory here, that the cover of Tony McCarroll's book shows them standing in front of the building. Need to confirm that though. Married With Children and I think D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman? were recorded in Mark Coyle's house on a Fostex eight-track Portastudio. Spaceman is unconfirmed but seems a safe bet. More on the Real People sessions here: www.oasis-recordinginfo.co.uk/?page_id=544
Lock All the Doors, Comin on Strong and Strange Thing were all, to the best of my knowledge, recorded during the Real People sessions between January - March 1993. Must Be the Music is an earlier one, from 1992 if I remember rightly. Don't know which studio though. Hope this helps.
Thanks NoelsOasis, JitKenson and davidjay, legends!
My humble opinion: What about "This Guy's in Love With You"? That's the only song I can think I would add to what's posted so far. I would priorize recording quality over how rare a song actually is. I'd keep it within the limits of what's soundboard recorded.
This may be a stupid question, but does it matter where the tracks came from? I mean, I find the info very fasicinating, but people in general are not going to care about what demo, or session something came from, right? I love to get the back story and read all of the BRILLIANT information DavidJay has been providing, but...
My point is this... do we even need to credit the source on these tracks? Or any of the tracks? They're all bootlegged anyhow.
Just a question. Thoughts?
P.S. Can we not simply point people to the forum if they are seeking more specific information on the tracks?
That is true JitKenson, even though one of the things I found most fascinating and engrossing about the Beatles Anthology was the info that they provided on each of the tracks but at the end of the day if everything is in the Anthology people will just download it and never look back(i.e. here to the forum) so I do agree with you there mate. We could always point them to the forum if they want more information on the tracks.
"Who'll pick you up when you're spread too thin, when the walls you built are closing in around you? I found you...."
Fair point there - the details of each session won't be to everyone's taste. I think just the studio name and date for each track (where known) would be good - just enough to get a sense of the timeline over which the tracks were recorded. Something like: "Columbia - Mix 2 (Sawmills Studio, Cornwall; February 1994)" I'm happy to help out on this if required. I think I have info for nearly all the tracks mentioned so far, at least for volumes 1 and 2. As you said, anyone interested in more details could then check the forum.
