I'm all for Batman and even Superman, but how many films do we need of them? Most of them are average at best anyhow. They should make a moratorium on these two for the next 25 years and then come back and revisit the material. It's getting old, very old and tired at this point.
Obviously not a comic book fan.
I have read the odd comic book here or there over the years, but as a rule not a huge fan of them. But that really ahs nothing to do with me not needing yet another Batman or Superman film #48372903472903458 to watch.

the same thing happened when heath ledger was cast as the joker, there was a huge uproar similar to this... and look how that turned out. ledger gave the performance of his career. at the moment i am accepting it and looking forward to see what they will do story wise. bring on 2015!!! it's funny though, i can guarantee everyone on the internet complaining about the casting choice will be first in line to see the movie when it comes out.
I'm slowly coming towards the idea of Ben Affleck as Batman. I mean, the man is obviously a very talented actor, he's done some shit films (Daredevil), but in recent years, he's been stellar in films like Argo and The Town, he's turned his career around in the last 5 years. I guess he has the classic "Bruce Wayne look" that people saw in people such as Jon Hamm or Scott Adkins.
He'll beef up for the role, no doubt. I think he's the right height and I mean, look at Michael Keaton - he was a comedy actor beforehand, and he ended up working out well as Batman.
wow, that looks amazing, no doubt this will be better than the actual poster haha!
And with Cranston signing on, it looks like the DCU are really getting some big names in (expect Matt Damon soon). Also, with Cranston coming in as Lex instead of Mark Strong, does that mean that he'll continue as Sinestro, meaning that Ryan Reynolds is coming back as Green Lantern?

i don't see how they can tie the green lantern movie into this universe. Superman is meant to be the first hero to emerge. so they can't use G.L, i am so confused

Even though they said Superman was the first hero, they said Batman is a "grizzled, seasoned veteran", so I guess it means nothing now

true, they could always say that the green lantern movie is set after man of steel. i really hope DC and WB have this universe planned out properly. they are competing with marvel after all.

I love the Green Lantern, shame about the film though. I think Ben Afleck could be good. I do worry he has a bit more George Clooney about him than Christian Bale.

I'm a big GL fan, and I think Ryan Reynolds was a good choice for Hal Jordan, it wasn't his fault the film wasn't that good. And I think Affleck will be a good Batman, I'm going to watch Argo today, but in recent years, he's become a very serious, gritty actor and director, and by playing an "older" Batman, I think he'll be able to pull off the moody, dark, loner type Batman better than people expect him to
