So, 25 years ago today. Can't believe it's been that long. It was the absolute peak time to be an Oasis fan. Obviously didn't know it at the time but it never got any bigger than 21st August 1997.
Remember spending who whole day listening to it over and over. Was familiar with about half the tunes as they had been played on Radio 1, but half was still new to me.
Absolutely loved it, still do to this day. I know it's overblown and some of the songs are very long but to me that's part of the charm. You wanted to hear massive guitar riffs that never ended, Liam's incredible vocals against Noel's amazing melodies, Whitey's thunderous drums. That's what we got, in spades!
My mum had no choice but to listen to it all day too, her favourite was Fade In/Out. Magical, magical times.
I wonder why they are missing out reissues of SOTOG’s and Heathen Chemistry?
I think it’s because they would need permission from Liam, Gem and Andy as they have songs on each album rather than all Noel so maybe a bit more complicated?

Didn’t think of that, but surely all of them would be all for it if that’s the case? I thought it could be something to do with the first 3 being on Creation and the rest on Big Brother Records but with the success of the Knebworth release and other reissues then surely they are just cash machines with not much effort?

I reckon Noel's not seriously considered anniversary editions of any of the later albums to this point. I know he said we would see them eventually, but we could still be a few years off. Maybe 2025 for a new series like the Chasing The Sun set? Would give them plenty of time to get things organised / signed off. 25 years of SOTSOG would be a good place as any to start.

At least Brian Cannon has given us some quality content for the 25th. Fascinating watch. For those who haven't subscribed to the Microdot Youtube channel please do so, the amount of information shared in his videos are amazing.
