Just emailed the site requesting the tracklisting and will let you know if I hear anything back.
Know the tracks (and if it's possible the source) is the first best movement, before of nothing; to not get tracks that we already have but that are duplicates, alternative versions, etc or have a different source.
Im always wary of this kinda thing, just how many TDK's can be out there
The 'Oasis Live' on the spine is a good sign, as the replica only had 'Oasis' - possibly for that very reason, to differenciate the originals from the replica.
The 2nd tape, with studio demos b/w an early live gig sound like the three Out of the Blue demos (Alice, Reminice, Take Me) and the Boardwalk gig from January 1992, as found on the tape sold last year. Anything else would be very intriguing indeed.
A quick update on this. I just heard back from Karen at Omega Auctions, who explains that:
The tape is still available and the description has been updated to include the list of tracks:
OASIS DEMO CASSETTE - a true piece of Oasis history in the form of their first ever demo cassette recorded in late 1991 and Jan 1992 with Noel's handwriting on the labels. This pre-dates the Oasis "Live Demonstration" cassette and was given to Terry Christian personally by Noel in 1992 whilst he was having dinner in Don Giovanni's in Manchester.
The cassette features early studio demos on one side and an early gig on the B side from The Boardwalk. Studio demos on one side include "Colour My Life", "Take Me", "See The Sun", "Must Be The Music", "Better Let You Know", "Snakebite" and "Take Me" to finish. Live tracks on the other side include "Take Me", "Must Be The Music", "Life in Vain" also known as "Acoustic", "I Will Show You" (Arkala), "Better Let You Know" and "Take Me". This really is a gem and a must for any Oasis collector. A signed letter of provenance can be provided by Terry to go with this item.
She added they would be happy to answer any more questions we may have on this tape, so if anyone's got any I'd be happy to forward them if needed.
I wonder what generation that cassette is? Mark Coyle's sleeve notes for the replica Live Demonstration cassette indicate that the only copies of copies survive, and that the songs recorded at Liverpool were mixed down to cassette.
I would love to know if the Real People kept all the multitracks for these sessions, which would probably be on quarter-inch tape. The white label mix of Columbia and the alt mix of Married with Children (on the DM reissue) are both mixed down to professional formats, and show that the recordings have scope to sound a lot better than the cassette versions.
