im curious as to why its a itunes only release? every beatles release has been on a physical format. seems a bit fishy to me.
Dylan has already had somethings out - short, 100 run editions on vinyl i believe, and it looks like this might be the first of many Beatles things to follow. it might also be a limited time release and obviously an itunes only thing negates any expenditure on packaging etc.
apparently there's quite a lot of industry talk about a lot of Beatles stuff next year, including a possible anthology 4...
but mainly i think it's all a reaction to the beatles chronology project
The British government, following the change in European copyright law, implemented a law last month providing "that if a record label is not commercially releasing a track that is over 50 years old, then the performers can request that the rights in the performance revert to them -- a 'use it or lose it' clause," the government's website said.
