I want the demos and I`m sure tehre are songs, that were recorded but never hit the light of the day. after their first tour they said, that they are recording right now and just time later, somebody told them, tehy should try working with someone unusual, who was DAve Sitek, to get a different sound. Maybe some Gems like "back after the break" were written in the time before BE was recorded, cause the bonus tracks have that really dry sound to them, which can not be compared to the moody and fresh sounding BE.

this was the last time I saw them, they were a really good live band.
We all know that Liam has a very reactive personality, I wonder if noel's comments about going drinking with some of Beady Eye who were 'still plugging away' was some kind of last straw?

I honestly think it blew up back in February time, they all probably took some time away from eachother and Liam came to the conclusion he wanted no more to do with it, would explain why coachella was cancelled and why there was no more dates added.
maybe gem or andy got talking that they should start writing for a 3rd album and Liam said no, I mean its possible andy wanted out and Liam took the opportunity to go to, andys tweet could be taken as him deciding to leave.

I imagine we will know more after the NME interview this week. As for the band splitting I am gutted! I think they are a seriously underrated band with one excellent and one very good album behind them. It's a shame that things outside of the music constantly seemed to over shadow the tunes and while some (Gems injury) where unavoidable others like Liam's extra marital affair and his performance at the televised festivals where the last thing the band needed. I hope whatever happens next we have not heard the last of the guys and that they have more luck with whatever they do next.
I'm late to this thread, but just wanted to add that I was saddened to learn of the band splitting up. Best wishes to all concerned for whatever comes next.
This is my favourite Beady Eye tune. I really like the wistful quality of Liam's vocal and the hazy psychedelic sound they created here.

Same here, I've been listening to quite a lot of them since they announced the split and I still really enjoy their music, such a shame.
I wonder what Liam's thinking was leading up to the split since it seems like he's the one who initiated it. I don't think Liam is a confident songwriter on his own, the others be it in Oasis or Beady Eye seemed to be a sounding board for him and improved his songs so even though I'd welcome a solo record but I don't think we'll see one anytime soon. Honestly no clue what Gem and Andy are going to do now, they're not the best of singers so a solo album is difficult. Andy could put Ride or Hurricane #1 back together, personally I'd love another Hurricane album. I took to them more than I did Ride and their singer was pretty good as well.
Also spare a thought for Jay Mehler, he left Kasabian to join Beady Eye. Must be cursing himself.
"Who'll pick you up when you're spread too thin, when the walls you built are closing in around you? I found you...."
I think the start to their split was playing Oasis songs live, they was trying to create a new band and the crowd just went nuts for Oasis songs, I know Noel does them on tour but in fairness he did write them and was never distancing himself from Oasis, but Beady Eye was never going to do that as they was always going to be seen as Oasis v2 which Liam will probably have with him the rest of his life in whatever band he decides to front. They will all do well out of this and go there own way.
Just look at it this way, when we followed Oasis we just followed them, when they split we then followed 2 bands in Beady Eye and HGHFB's, now we can follow what Noel, Liam, Andy and Gem will do next so it's all good, more good music!

In this case I think the sum of all the parts is less than Oasis. Is anyone really that interested in an album by Gem or Andy? Really?
I've looked hard at the fake and real Twitter account names and I can't see which characters are different in the fake name.
I think we should all report it to Twitter 'cos as mad as Liam's reputation is it definitely does damage to his public profile.
As daft as it sounds, thousands of people will now believe that Liam has binned Beady Eye after falling out with the rest of the band and also called them talentless.
